Massage
Massage therapy is a relaxing, stress-relieving and energizing experience. Our certified therapists can provide a variety of treatments that will enhance flexibility and relaxation, relieve post-exercise soreness, and return you to a more balanced state of mind. Certified massage therapists are available by appointment during LifeStyleRx hours of operation. The types of massages we offer include:

Swedish

A gentle total body massage that soothes muscular tension using long healing strokes, kneading, and gentle pressure.

Shiatsu
An Asian-derived process that uses vigorous manipulation of the soft tissue and a firm sequence of rhythmic pressure that follows the body’s natural energy channels.

Acupressure
Less vigorous than Shiatsu, Acupressure uses deep finger pressure along energy channels to relieve stress.

Sports

Muscle-specific massage that uses rubbing techniques, pressure, and stretching to release tension, alleviate fatigue, and disperse lactic acid build-up.

Deep Tissue

An aggressive, deep pressure massage used for the relief of chronic muscular tension, adhesions, and scar tissue. This therapeutic work can be uncomfortable during the process, but is very effective for pain relief. Alternatively, a slow, controlled pressure application of deep tissue techniques can produce a painless and very satisfying massage.

Mayo-Fascial Release

This slow and subtle technique can be used to release fascia and muscle throughout the body. The therapist uses light to moderate traction and a twisting approach to achieve biomechanical and reflex change through an appropriate tension on the soft tissue.

Trigger Point

A technique that uses point pressure for muscle relaxation

Reflexology

The massage therapist applies pressure to specific points on the hands and feet to release the body’s own natural healing qualities. Reflexology is ideal for those who wish to improve circulation and relieve tension.
