Pain and numbness associated with peripheral neuropathy, which can stem from diabetes, vascular issues and those undergoing chemotheraphy, can be debilitating. Our therapists offer anodyne therapy -- an infared treatment where heat penetrates deep into the tissue, reopening capillaries and smaller veins to increase blood flow. This treatment can improve nerve function and helps in healing wounds.

Occupational therapists or speech therapists work with individuals with swallowing issues in order to obtain an in-depth clinical assessment. As part of this process, the individual may be assessed using a video swallow study. The intervention that follows will include diet changes, caregiver training, and/or exercise/instruction as appropriate. We also offer Vital Stim therapy, a relatively new treatment technique, which uses small electrical currents to stimulate and re-educate the muscles involved in swallowing. |
